Chromecast With Android TV May Be Closer After Homologation In The US

The new Chromecast with Android TV and remote control may arrive soon. At least that is what indicates the approval of two new wireless devices by Google with the FCC, a regulatory agency. The documents do not provide too many details but point to a streaming media device and an accessory with Bluetooth connectivity and battery cover.

The "Sabrina", as it may be called according to leaked photos, has been expected since March this year. The dongle has similar looks to the Chromecast Ultra, but with its own operating system and control.

If the rumors are confirmed, the novelty will replace the Chromecast Ultra among the brand's dongles, offering resolutions up to 4K. The difference, in this case, would be the presence of remote control to access the contents and the Android TV operating system itself, already present in Sony and TCL televisions, as well as in direct competitors of the media center.

The documents that point to the approval deal with two products, one of which is a streaming accessory with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. The other, described only as a "wireless device", would be its remote control.
